Gerard Henry is the creator and host of the highly rated Black Entertainment Television, Inc. (BET) Gospel music video show, “Lift Every Voice: featuring up-close and personal interviews with leading Gospel Artists, Preachers and Athletes in the nation (reaching almost 1,000,000 viewers weekly).” Early on, Gerard’s delivery and appeal garnered thousands of new viewers weekl and BET responded by expanding the program from 30-minutes to one-hour. In its fifth season, Gerard’s show is among the network's most well-received programs – Gospel or other.

Henry has a zeal for sharing the gospel of Christ. He believes that his active participation in both secular and non-secular arenas will enable him to “build a platform for Jesus Christ.” In addition to his work with BET, Henry is also a motivational speaker, speaking on various topics including abstinence, prayer and humility.

Henry is considered to be a visionary by many of his peers. While a freshman at the University of Maryland – College Park (UMCP) in 1990, he created the Brothers and Sisters of Love Christian Fellowship. Through this ministry initiative, he was instrumental in the growth of a Bible study group from five members to an influential assembly of 50 students. Henry was inspired to start a campus ministry because “…the need [for God] wasn’t being met within the black student community.” He later served as national student board president of New Generation Campus Ministries, a national student movement emphasizing Christ-centered leadership development.

In addition to hosting, “Lift Every Voice”, Henry is currently serving as the National Spokesperson for Global Outreach Campus Ministries. Henry is compelled to inspire college students to pursue their dreams and watch God exceed their expectations. He also plans to produce a variety of media that will appeal to all types of audiences. Henry offers a dynamic delivery and is a man of character who walks with integrity, influencing people to live an abundant life in the Lord.

A published author, inspirational speaker and native of Teaneck, N.J., Gerard is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, College Park where he earned a B.A. in Radio-TV-Film, graduating with honors. Henry is the author of “Sex at its Best: Going A.W.O.L. and recently completed his second book “Voices of Inspiration” (New Motivational and Spiritual reflections from some of today’s most inspiring voices: Bishop Eddie Long, CeCe Winans, Allan Houston and Billy Blanks, published by BET Books, in stores wherever books can be found. Gerard, his wife Terry, daughter Baylor Leanne and son Benjamin Jeremiah reside in Atlanta, GA.
