Comedian Akintunde has signed on as Creative Consultant / Producer
for the late night talk series, “The Monique Show”
(Debuting Oct 4th).
Says Akintunde, “That’s contract talk for writing jokes
and coming up with funny show ideas”.
The 16 year comedy veteran will also make appearances in comedy sketches
and “Man on the street” interview segments. He joins fellow writer,
Mitchell Marchand (BET Hip Hop Awards), Johnson Family Vacation).“D-Tech”.
This will mark the third television collaboration for Ak and Mo - since
coming on as her Monologue Writer halfway through the first season of
her hosting stint on “Its Showtime
at the Apollo”. Next, she enlisted him as Monologue Writer
for the 2004 BET Awards. Though, the monologue was preempted
by Monique’s now infamous, “Big Girl” dance opener. Subsequently,
Akintunde would write all of her introductions for the ceremonies presenters
and performers.
Additional writing credits for Akintunde include the
2005 NAACP Image Awards, and screenwriting assignments for Atlanta
Pastor, Bishop Eddie L. Long
and Comedian/Actor, Chris Tucker.

In most recent years, Akintunde has
been focused on his ministry of laughter - touring nationally and internationally,
as a Christian Comedian.
In February 2009, he began touring with
Pastor Creflo A. Dollar on the “2009 Change Convention”
(scheduled through November), and is set to rejoin Pastor Dollar for
the “2010 Change Convention”. Summer marked
Akintunde hosting his third straight national summer comedy tour,
TBS Presents Tyler Perry ”Meet The Browns”
Comedy Tour with fellow Christian Comedians John Gray
and Small Fire.
In addition to touring and writing, Akintunde
and his wife Eunissa, are developing several television show projects
under their Production Company, No Joke Entertainment.
The company just wrapped Post Production on a Pilot
based on the lives of the students and faculty of Denmark Technical
College titled,
